Don’t mind me man, only

Some stranger, standing

On a street corner here

Mumble something softly

Quickly, turn your head

Away, you are wondering

Is he perhaps dangerous

And, will he bother you

Or, would you be afraid

Make one furtive glance

Turn nothing but an eye

See a smile on my mouth

Think, he smiles at you

Oh! How Vain you really

Are! How Conceited, too

You could simply ask me

I would say truthfully,

Only told myself a joke

And if you would ask it

Could say it to you too

So you could laugh with

This don’t mind me man.
